Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a non-profit, community-focused veterinary practice in Wrexham seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly and growing team. With continued growth and planned expansion, this is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinician who enjoys a combination of surgery and consulting while supporting the development of less experienced colleagues.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working 38 hours across four days per week. Saturday duties are shared on a 2:9 rota. Specific daily shift times and out-of-hours requirements have not been provided.
Role Description
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will manage a varied first opinion caseload across consultations and surgery, including both sick and injured patients alongside routine cases. The role provides the opportunity to work cases up independently while contributing to consistently high standards of clinical care.
There is also an important mentoring element to the position, with the successful candidate supporting less experienced Veterinary Surgeons within the team. Ongoing development is encouraged through funded CPD and certificate opportunities.
Team Size
The successful candidate will join a friendly and growing clinical team and will play a role in supporting less experienced Veterinary Surgeons. The practice is continuing to expand in response to increasing demand, although specific team numbers have not been provided.
Practice Details
The practice provides a varied first opinion service and is undergoing planned development to increase both theatre and consulting capacity. This expansion will enable the team to manage a greater caseload and provide veterinary care to more pets and owners across Wrexham and the surrounding areas.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon with at least three years’ experience who is confident across both consultations and surgery. They should enjoy managing a varied caseload and be comfortable supporting and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, alongside a commitment to high-quality patient care and an enthusiasm for continued clinical development.
