Job Description

Introduction
Our Client is a well-established small animal practice located in the centre of Oxford, Oxfordshire, close to the train station, university parks, and the vibrant town centre. The practice offers a supportive and collaborative working environment within a highly desirable city location.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a close-knit team and deliver high standards of clinical care in a busy first-opinion setting.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week over 4 days. The rota includes either 1 in 3 Saturday or Sunday shifts, or 1 in 6 full weekends at a nearby 24-hour hospital in Woodstock.

Role Description
In this role, you will deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations and surgical procedures, maintaining high standards of regulatory, clinical, and operational compliance. You will be responsible for developing tailored treatment plans, communicating clearly with clients, and ensuring continuity of patient care.

You will work collaboratively within a supportive team environment, contributing to shared case discussions and ongoing clinical development. There are opportunities to develop special interests, supported by funded certificates and access to wider clinical communities.

Team Size
The team consists of an experienced Veterinary Surgeon, two Registered Veterinary Nurses, one Student Veterinary Nurse, one Receptionist, and a Practice Manager. The structure offers strong day-to-day support within a friendly and cohesive working environment.

Practice Details
The practice is centrally located in Oxford, offering excellent transport links and access to local amenities. As part of a wider network, the clinic benefits from support from a nearby 24-hour hospital for enhanced and emergency care.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified MRCVS with a passion for clinical excellence and client care. You will be confident in consultations and routine surgery, demonstrate strong communication skills, and work effectively as part of a team.

A proactive attitude toward professional development and maintaining high clinical standards is essential.
