Our Client’s practice is a nurse-led environment that places strong emphasis on development, collaboration, and high-quality patient care. The team works alongside supportive vets who actively recognise and value the nursing team’s contribution. The practice promotes continuous learning and encourages nurses to take an active role in both clinical and client-facing responsibilities.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position, ideally working five days per week. Shifts alternate between 8:30am – 4:30pm and 10:30am – 6:30pm. The role includes 1 in 4 Saturdays from 8:30am – 12:30pm, with no out-of-hours requirements.

Role Description
This is a varied and engaging nursing role where responsibilities depend on the shift being worked. Early shifts typically involve patient admissions, preparing drugs for surgical and procedural cases, monitoring anaesthesia and sedation, supporting theatre procedures, CT scanning, dental work including dental x-rays, general radiography, and inpatient care. Late shifts are more consult-focused, including flea and worming treatments, puppy, kitten, and senior health checks, nail clipping, and blood sampling. There is also the opportunity to develop into more specialised clinics such as renal and hyperthyroid, with appropriate training and support. The practice benefits from a wide range of cases supported by visiting specialists, allowing excellent clinical exposure.

You will be joining a close-knit, supportive team with a strong nurse-led culture and a collaborative approach between vets and nurses.

Practice Details
The practice offers a varied caseload supported by visiting specialists in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, dermatology, cardiology, endoscopy, ultrasound, and ophthalmology. The team aims to keep as much work in-house as possible, providing exposure to advanced procedures and diverse clinical work.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for learning and ongoing professional development, with a particular interest in surgery and further qualifications. You will be confident in nurse consults and client-facing responsibilities, with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for building relationships with pet owners. A positive, enthusiastic, and team-oriented personality is essential, along with the ability to work a full-time rota and commute reliably to the practice.
