Job Description

Introduction
Our Client is an independently owned veterinary hospital seeking an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly and supportive team in Windsor.
This is a progressive first-opinion environment where new ideas are welcomed and continued investment is made in modern facilities, equipment and treatments.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time, four-day-week position, to include one late shift per week. Weekend duties are shared on a one-in-five basis with the Monday and Friday following a duty weekend are provided as days off.
There is no overnight on-call or sole-charge working. Emergencies outside the practice’s hours are managed by an external provider, with a veterinary nurse on site overnight to care for inpatients.

Role Description
The role involves delivering high-quality first-opinion care across consultations, routine surgery, dentistry, diagnostic investigations, clinical work-ups and inpatient care.
The successful candidate will be mainly based at the hospital, with some work across two nearby branches. A driving licence and access to a car are essential, with business mileage reimbursed.
There is excellent scope to develop clinical interests and work towards a postgraduate certificate, with financial support and dedicated time away from the practice provided.

Team Size
The team includes seven Veterinary Surgeons, two of whom hold certificates, alongside 11 veterinary nurses and an experienced reception and administration team.
Many colleagues have been with the hospital for over ten years, creating a stable, knowledgeable and supportive working environment.

Practice Details & Equipment
The main site has held Veterinary Hospital status since the 1970s and provides extensive surgical, diagnostic, dental and hospitalisation facilities.
A resident veterinary nurse is on site 24 hours a day, allowing inpatients to remain at the hospital overnight with continuity of care.
The hospital is supported by two smaller branches approximately 15 minutes away, with free parking available at all locations.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with at least two years of first-opinion experience.
They should be confident with consultations, routine surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, medical work-ups and inpatient care. Strong communication, teamwork and a commitment to high clinical standards are essential.
A driving licence and access to a car are required. The role would suit a Veterinary Surgeon seeking clinical freedom, professional development and a supportive working environment.
