Our Client’s practice is an independent veterinary clinic committed to delivering exceptional patient care within a supportive and collaborative team environment. The practice strongly believes that by valuing and supporting its team, it enables them to provide compassionate and high-quality care to pets and their owners within the local community.

Working Hours / Rota
This role offers an excellent work-life balance with a 4-day working week totalling 31 hours. The rota includes 1 in 3 Saturday mornings from 8am–12pm, with no Sunday work, no Bank Holiday commitments and no out-of-hours duties. Consultations are scheduled for 20 minutes, allowing time for thorough case management and client communication. The practice also builds admin time, lunch breaks and additional breaks into the diary, ensuring a sustainable and supportive daily workflow.

Role Description
The Veterinary Surgeon will provide high-quality first opinion veterinary care while building strong relationships with clients and their pets. The role includes consultations, diagnostics, and routine surgical procedures, working closely with an experienced nursing team. The practice encourages open communication, reflective learning and a collaborative approach to patient care.

Team Size
The team includes 5 vets (equivalent to 3.5 full-time vets), 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 student nurses, 2 Animal Nursing Assistants, a dedicated reception team, and a Practice Manager focused on team wellbeing and development. The veterinary team includes clinicians with strengths in areas such as internal medicine, surgery, behavioural medicine and emergency care.

Practice Details
The practice is focused on providing a low-stress and comfortable environment for patients, with confidence-building clinics and nurse-led services such as post-operative checks, vaccinations and routine treatments. Facilities include separate dog and cat/rabbit wards, behaviour consultations, and collaboration with visiting orthopaedic specialists.

Equipment
The practice is equipped with DR X-ray, ultrasound, multi-parameter monitoring equipment, syringe drivers, Tonopen tonometry, and Phovia light therapy.
