Job Description
Introduction
Our Client’s practice is a well-established small animal practice located in Uxbridge, West London. Having been a trusted part of the local community for many years, the practice offers a welcoming environment with strong clinical support and access to a wider hospital network for referrals and out-of-hours care.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a part-time role working 2 days per week (Thursdays and Fridays, with Friday being an 8-hour day). The rota includes 1 in 3 branch Saturdays and 1 in 8 Sundays working alongside a nearby hospital team, plus 1–2 bank holidays per year. There are no on-call requirements. Full-time options may be available across nearby practices if desired.
Role Description
This is a first-opinion GP role involving consultations, routine surgery, and case management. Responsibilities include carrying out thorough examinations, creating evidence-based treatment plans, maintaining accurate clinical records, and prescribing in line with current legislation. You will be expected to work within your clinical limits and refer cases appropriately when needed. The role encourages collaboration and maintaining a respectful team environment, with access to hospital support for more complex cases.
Team Size
You will be supported by an experienced and established team including a senior vet, a strong RVN team, trainee nurses, and additional support from a regional head vet.
Practice Details
The practice is spacious and filled with natural light, featuring 3 consult rooms, a large kennel and prep area, and a dedicated theatre. There is on-site parking available, which is rare for London. The location offers excellent transport links, with Uxbridge underground station just a 15-minute walk away, providing easy access into central London while still benefiting from nearby green spaces.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a confident GP Veterinary Surgeon with strong clinical skills and a collaborative approach. You should be comfortable with both consultations and routine surgery, demonstrate good clinical judgement, and be committed to high standards of patient care. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team are essential.
