Job Description
Introduction
Our Client’s practice in Taunton, Somerset is a recently refurbished veterinary surgery offering an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon seeking a progressive and clinically focused working environment. Located just two minutes from the M5, the practice benefits from a varied and stimulating caseload alongside access to advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment.
The practice is led by an experienced clinical Partner with a strong focus on professional development and clinical excellence, creating an ideal environment for Veterinary Surgeons looking to continue developing their skills and clinical interests.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position with genuinely flexible working hours available to support work-life balance.
There is no night work involved in the role.
Role Description
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will manage a varied small animal caseload involving consultations, diagnostics and surgery while delivering high standards of patient and client care. The practice offers exposure to a broad range of cases supported by advanced facilities and visiting peripatetic specialists.
There is strong encouragement for further professional development, including funded certificates and ongoing CPD support. The role would suit a Veterinary Surgeon keen to work within a collaborative and progressive clinical environment focused on gold-standard care.
Team Size
The clinical team includes an experienced Practice Partner currently working towards a third certificate, alongside 4 RVNs including an anaesthetics certificate holder and a nurse currently studying towards a medicine certificate.
The practice also benefits from a dedicated 3-person administrative team helping support efficient day-to-day operations.

The recently refurbished practice is modern and well-equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities. The surgery benefits from dedicated cat and dog wards and support from visiting peripatetic specialists, helping provide a varied and rewarding caseload.
