The practice offers flexible working arrangements and welcomes both full-time and part-time applications. The role includes participation in a daytime weekend rota, with time off in lieu provided afterwards. Candidates seeking alternative or unusual working patterns are encouraged to discuss their requirements.
Role Description
This role is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon with at least two to three years of small animal practice experience who enjoys providing high-quality first opinion care across both medicine and surgery. The successful candidate will undertake routine consultations, basic medical investigations and straightforward soft tissue surgery while working within a supportive clinical environment.
The practice is committed to helping clinicians continue developing their skills, with support available to pursue individual clinical interests and further professional development. More experienced Veterinary Surgeons are also encouraged to apply, with the role adaptable to suit their experience and career aspirations.
Team Size
The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team that values collaboration, shared learning and delivering excellent patient and client care. The practice is committed to creating an enjoyable working environment where team members are encouraged to develop professionally.
Practice Details
The hospital has been serving the community for more than 40 years and combines evidence-based medicine with a practical, client-focused approach to veterinary care. The team believes in contextualised care, working closely with owners to identify the most appropriate treatment options for each individual patient.
The practice operates its own out-of-hours service from its Bury St Edmunds hospital while also providing emergency cover for several surrounding veterinary clinics.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Veterinary Surgeon with at least two to three years of experience in small animal practice. They should be confident with routine consultations, basic medical work-ups and straightforward soft tissue surgery, while being motivated to continue developing their clinical skills.
Applicants should enjoy working collaboratively within a supportive team, communicate effectively with clients and share the practice’s commitment to evidence-based, contextualised veterinary care.
