Introduction
Our Client’s practice in St Albans is a well-positioned small animal surgery located within a busy high street setting, benefiting from a loyal and growing client base alongside a strong local community feel. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to take ownership of a practice environment and help shape its future clinical direction.

Supported by a wider veterinary network and nearby hospital facilities, the role offers the perfect blend of autonomy, clinical progression and collaborative support within one of Hertfordshire’s most desirable locations.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week.

The rota includes either 1 in 6 weekends at a nearby 24-hour hospital or 1 in 3 Saturdays shared across four clinics. Part-time applications are also welcomed.

Role Description
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will manage consultations, surgery and case workups while delivering high standards of patient and client care. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and develop your own caseload while helping shape the clinical direction of the practice.

The practice welcomes both medical and surgical interests, allowing the successful candidate to develop their preferred clinical focus within a supportive wider network. There is also strong support available through nearby clinics and hospital teams, alongside access to internal CPD and funded certificate opportunities.

This would particularly suit a confident Veterinary Surgeon comfortable with sole charge responsibilities and keen to establish long-term client relationships within a community-focused practice.

The practice currently operates with locum support and benefits from collaboration with nearby clinics and wider hospital teams within the veterinary network.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for clinical excellence and client care.
