Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and growing small animal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinician looking for the next step in their career, offering a salary of up to £80,000, strong clinical autonomy, modern facilities, and an excellent work-life balance with no out-of-hours requirements.
Working Hours / Rota
This is ideally a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with shifts running from 9:00am to 7:30pm and participation in the Saturday rota. There are no out-of-hours duties, helping to provide a sustainable balance alongside the clinical responsibilities of the role.
Role Description
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will manage their own varied first opinion caseload across consultations, diagnostics, and surgery. The role offers a high level of clinical autonomy and will particularly suit an experienced vet with strong surgical capabilities. Dentistry experience would be advantageous, and there is excellent scope to further develop clinical interests through funded CPD and certificate support.
Team Size
You will join an established team consisting of two Veterinary Surgeons, including an experienced senior clinician, one Head Registered Veterinary Nurse, two Registered Veterinary Nurses, four Client Care Advisors, and a Practice Manager. The team provides a welcoming and collaborative environment while allowing experienced clinicians the independence to manage their own cases.
Practice Details & Equipment
The practice is RCVS-accredited and well-equipped for a broad first opinion caseload. Facilities include a brand-new ultrasound system with four probes, endoscopy, digital x-ray, dental equipment, and an in-house laboratory, providing excellent capabilities for diagnostic work-ups and surgical cases.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with previous UK practice experience and excellent surgical skills. You must be confident working independently, managing your own caseload, and undertaking periods of lone working. Dentistry experience would be advantageous. Strong client communication, a passion for small animal care, a collaborative attitude, and a commitment to continued clinical development are also essential.
