Our Client’s hospital is a well-equipped, hospital-status small animal practice located in a beautiful National Park area with a coastal setting. The leadership team places strong emphasis on listening to every individual vet, starting from the very first meeting, ensuring rotas are tailored to support a healthy work–life balance. Working Hours / Rota

The rota is built collaboratively to ensure excellent work–life balance and flexibility. The practice runs its own out-of-hours service, supported by a hybrid OOHs vet team that covers the majority of night work. Any OOH contribution required is negotiable and designed to avoid overburdening the team, allowing vets to enjoy both their professional and personal lives.

Role Description

The practice is seeking two Small Animal Veterinary Surgeons to join a skilled and dynamic team. One role would suit a vet with experience in advanced surgical and diagnostic procedures, alongside the ambition for future career progression and development. The second role is ideal for a vet looking to work within a strong, experienced team environment with excellent support. Both positions offer opportunities to contribute to case discussions, clinical meetings, and the ongoing delivery of a progressive, high-quality veterinary service.

Team Size

The Small Animal team consists of 19 Veterinary Surgeons, 21 Registered Veterinary Nurses, and 3 Student Veterinary Nurses. The team includes multiple certificate and diploma holders, as well as colleagues currently studying towards further qualifications.

Practice Details

This hospital-status practice operates as a top-tier first opinion facility with referral-level services. It provides an Ophthalmology referral service to practices across the South of England and benefits from a weekly visiting Cert AVP (GSAS) for advanced orthopaedic cases. An in-house laboratory is supported by dedicated laboratory technicians, ensuring excellent diagnostic capability.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidates will be enthusiastic, motivated, and keen to bring new ideas and experiences to the team. You will enjoy collaborative working, actively contributing to case discussions and clinical meetings. A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a desire to provide progressive, high-quality veterinary care are essential. Experience in advanced procedures is advantageous for one of the roles but not essential for both.
