Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice, combining the stability of a trusted veterinary group with the feel of a close-knit independent practice. Established for over eight years, the practice has built a loyal and growing client base by delivering high standards of care in a warm and welcoming environment. Owned and led by a Veterinary Surgeon and a Registered Veterinary Nurse, the practice has created a compassionate culture where both colleagues and clients feel valued and supported.
Working Hours / Rota
The practice offers flexible working arrangements and welcomes both full-time and part-time applicants. School hours can also be accommodated to support work-life balance. There are no out-of-hours responsibilities. The weekend commitment consists of one in three Saturdays from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
Role Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a supportive and progressive practice. The successful candidate will undertake routine consultations, medical work-ups and routine surgical procedures while benefiting from exposure to a varied surgical caseload, including orthopaedics. The practice actively encourages professional development through generous CPD support and certificate funding, allowing Veterinary Surgeons to develop their own clinical interests. The role places a strong emphasis on teamwork, client communication and delivering exceptional standards of patient care.
Team Size
The successful candidate will join an experienced and collaborative team comprising three Veterinary Surgeons, five Registered Veterinary Nurses, one Veterinary Care Assistant and four Receptionists. The practice has a friendly atmosphere where teamwork, learning and mutual support are central to daily life.
Practice Details
The practice is a well-established small animal practice with over eight years of serving the local community. It is a member of the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme and has received a Good Client Service Award. The practice offers modern facilities to support a varied medical and surgical caseload, including orthopaedic procedures, while also providing a dedicated, peaceful euthanasia space for clients when required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in small animal practice and be confident with routine consultations, surgery and medical work-ups. They will be a compassionate communicator who enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team and is committed to maintaining high clinical standards and animal welfare. A willingness to continue learning and develop clinical interests is highly valued, alongside the ability to remain calm and adaptable in a busy practice environment.
