Introduction
Our Client is an independently owned hospital and operates as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC). They are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for Emergency and Critical Care to join the dedicated night team at their 24-hour Shrewsbury Hospital. The hospital provides accessible, affordable, high-quality veterinary care through transparent pricing and affordable out-of-hours consultations, while benefiting from the support of first opinion and referral services during the day to ensure excellent continuity of patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a part-time position averaging 20 hours per week, following a rota of five consecutive night shifts followed by sixteen nights off.

Week 1 consists of Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday night shifts, followed by two weeks off. Night shifts are from 7:00pm to 8:00am.

Role Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon who thrives in the fast-paced world of Emergency and Critical Care. The successful candidate will manage a varied emergency caseload while providing exceptional overnight care for hospitalised patients, working closely with the daytime clinical teams to ensure seamless continuity of care.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of medical, surgical, soft tissue and orthopaedic emergency cases while working alongside an experienced advanced clinical team. It provides an excellent opportunity to continue developing technical skills within a collaborative hospital environment dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care.

Team Size
The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, including dedicated inpatient staff and advanced clinicians with surgical certificate holders, ensuring exceptional support and collaboration across both day and night services.
