Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice/hospital and operates a well-established small animal practice in Salisbury. The team is passionate about delivering excellent client and patient care while maintaining a positive and supportive working culture. Regular clinical meetings are held to shape the direction of the practice collaboratively, and wellbeing is placed firmly at the centre of daily operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Veterinary Surgeon seeking clinical autonomy within a progressive and nurturing environment.
Working Hours / Rota
This role offers minimal unsociable hours. Saturday mornings are worked on a 1 in 3 rota from 8:00am to 12:00pm. The last appointment during the week is at 5:45pm, with the working day finishing at 6:15pm. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed to ensure the role supports your personal and professional needs. Out-of-hours care is provided on site by a dedicated external team, meaning there are no routine OOH responsibilities.
Role Description
The Senior Veterinary Surgeon will provide high-quality first opinion care while contributing to the ongoing development of the practice. You will have clinical autonomy to pursue your interests, support team development, and contribute to regular clinical discussions about case management and service evolution. The role offers a balanced caseload and strong nursing support, enabling you to practise to a high standard. Whether you are seeking progression and leadership opportunities or prefer a supportive and collaborative senior role, the practice is committed to tailoring the position to suit your aspirations.
Team Size
You will work alongside a friendly and competent clinical team, including experienced Veterinary Surgeons and a highly capable nursing team. The practice benefits from strong collaborative relationships both internally and within the wider group network, ensuring access to additional support and learning opportunities.
Practice Details
The practice is spacious and well organised, located in a desirable city setting. It maintains a positive working relationship with its on-site out-of-hours provider, ensuring seamless patient care and additional clinical support. As part of a wider veterinary group, the practice benefits from access to broader clinical expertise, internal learning opportunities, and career development pathways.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready to step into a senior role, with strong clinical standards and a passion for patient and client care. You will value teamwork, open communication, and professional development. Whether you are seeking autonomy and progression or a nurturing environment with collaborative support, you will thrive in a practice that prioritises wellbeing and clinical excellence.
