Job Description

Introduction
Our Client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join two well-established practices in Redruth and St Ives, Cornwall. This role offers the chance to work across two supportive and well-equipped sites while enjoying one of the UK’s most desirable coastal locations.

This position combines clinical variety, a collaborative working culture and an excellent work–life balance, all set against the backdrop of Cornwall’s stunning coastline and countryside.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week over 4 days.

The rota includes 1 in 3 Saturdays (8:30am–12:30pm). There are no out-of-hours or Bank Holiday requirements.

Role Description
You will deliver high standards of clinical care across both sites, managing a varied caseload of consultations, diagnostics and routine surgical procedures. The role includes a balanced split between the Redruth and St Ives practices, providing continuity of care and exposure to different working environments.

You will be confident working sole charge when required, particularly at the St Ives practice, and comfortable handling routine surgery, diagnostic workups and client consultations.

Collaboration is key within this role, as you will work alongside experienced colleagues across a three-practice collective, contributing to case discussions and supporting ongoing clinical development.

Practice Details
The Redruth practice is spacious and well-equipped, featuring four consulting rooms, two theatres, ultrasound, dental X-ray, digital X-ray, and separate dog and cat isolation wards. The site holds Silver Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation and offers on-site parking and staff garden space.

The St Ives practice is a compact and well-organised surgery with two consulting rooms, a fully equipped theatre and prep area, in-house laboratory for haematology and biochemistry, digital X-ray, ultrasound, dental equipment, and separate dog and cat kennels. The practice also benefits from a spacious reception, staff room and car park.

Team Environment
Across the practices, you will join a supportive and experienced team including dedicated Branch Partners, an experienced Head Nurse, Registered Veterinary Nurses and longstanding support staff.

The wider network includes seven experienced vets, with several currently studying towards certificates in Small Animal Medicine, Cardiology and Orthopaedics, creating a stimulating and collaborative clinical environment.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon with a minimum of three years’ UK experience. You will be confident working sole charge when required and competent in routine surgery and consultations.

Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering high clinical standards are essential.
