Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join a growing and energetic team. This role offers a varied caseload, a supportive environment, and the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of a modern small animal practice.
Working Hours / Rota
This position offers a 4-day working week with no out-of-hours. The rota includes 1 in 3 Saturdays or 1 in 6 full weekends, with flexibility available to support work-life balance.
Role Description
The Veterinary Surgeon will be responsible for delivering high standards of clinical care through consultations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures. The role offers a balanced mix of consulting and surgery, allowing the successful candidate to manage cases from initial presentation through to treatment and follow-up.
Veterinary surgeons will work closely with the wider clinical team to ensure excellent patient outcomes while maintaining clear communication with clients regarding treatment plans and ongoing care. The position provides the opportunity to be hands-on in theatre and to work through cases comprehensively within a supportive practice environment.
The role encourages clinical collaboration with nearby veterinary teams and referral facilities, allowing access to additional expertise and support for complex cases. Veterinary surgeons will also contribute to maintaining high clinical standards and supporting the continued growth and development of the practice.
Team Size
The practice team includes 4 veterinary surgeons, supported by a skilled nursing team and dedicated client care staff.
Practice Details
The practice has recently undergone refurbishment and provides a modern clinical environment designed to support efficient workflows and high standards of veterinary care. Facilities include advanced surgical and diagnostic equipment, allowing the team to manage a wide range of medical and surgical cases in-house.
The practice also benefits from close collaboration with nearby hospital facilities and surrounding practices, providing access to advanced care and internal referral pathways when required. The location offers excellent transport connections to major cities and nearby countryside, supporting a strong work-life balance.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Veterinary Surgeon with at least two years of UK small animal experience and confidence managing both consultations and surgical procedures. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, a collaborative approach to teamwork, and a proactive attitude toward clinical development.
A positive and supportive mindset, along with enthusiasm for contributing to a growing and progressive practice environment, will ensure success in this role.
