Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned small animal practice in Nottinghamshire looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly and close-knit team. The practice offers a varied first-opinion caseload with a strong emphasis on case development, clinical progression and providing high-quality patient care.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. Saturday mornings are shared on a 1:4 rota from 9am–12pm.
Role Description
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will manage a varied small animal caseload, including routine surgery, consultations, medical work-ups and ongoing case management. The practice encourages good case development and provides opportunities to build confidence across both medical and surgical work.
Professional development is actively encouraged, with a generous CPD package and support available for Veterinary Surgeons interested in working towards a certificate.
Team Size
The close-knit team consists of 3.5 Veterinary Surgeons, three nurses, two Veterinary Care Assistants and four Receptionists. The team is led by an experienced RVN Practice Owner with more than 25 years of experience in veterinary practice.
Practice Details & Equipment
The bright, air-conditioned and purpose-built practice has full surgical facilities alongside digital X-ray, ultrasound, ECG, ultrasonic dental equipment, biochemistry facilities and a microscope.
The practice is situated within a local community in Nottinghamshire and offers convenient access to major road links, the M1 and Nottingham city centre.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Veterinary Surgeon with at least two years of small animal practice experience. They should be confident with routine surgical procedures and medical work-ups and comfortable managing their own first-opinion caseload.
A progressive approach to case development and an interest in continued professional development would suit the practice particularly well.
