Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s practice is a well-established independent small animal practice located in Clifton, Nottingham. The practice prides itself on creating a positive and enjoyable working environment while maintaining a consistently high standard of patient and client care. With a close-knit and supportive team culture, regular social events and strong clinical support from an experienced Practice Owner, this is an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon looking to join a friendly and progressive practice.

The practice benefits from a varied and interesting caseload with multiple complex cases managed daily, alongside longer consultation times and dedicated administration and case follow-up time built into the schedule.

Working Hours / Rota
The role can be offered on either a full or part-time basis with flexibility available to support the successful candidate. Working hours are from 8:30am – 6pm, with pay until 6:30pm. The practice is ideally seeking someone to work 3 or 4 days per week.

There is a shared Saturday rota of 1 in 3 Saturday mornings from 8:30am – 12pm. There are no out-of-hours duties and no bank holiday requirements.

Role Description
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will manage a varied caseload involving consultations, diagnostics, inpatient care and routine surgical procedures. The practice sees several larger and more in-depth medical cases daily, with allocated time for investigations, client follow-ups and inpatient management.

The role would suit a Veterinary Surgeon confident in both consulting and surgery, with the opportunity to pursue specific clinical interests including surgery if desired. There is also long-term progression available, including partnership opportunities for the right individual.

Team Size
The team currently consists of 3 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Nurses, a dedicated Reception team and a Practice Manager. The Practice Owner has over 24 years of clinical experience and provides excellent support both medically and surgically.

The practice has a close-knit and welcoming culture where team collaboration and enjoyment at work are strongly encouraged.

Practice Details
The practice operates from purpose-built, air-conditioned premises and is equipped to a high clinical standard. The team manages a varied and interesting caseload with longer consultation times and dedicated administration time built into the daily schedule.

Located in Clifton, Nottingham, the practice benefits from excellent transport links including nearby tram and bus connections, with easy access to the M1, A50 and M42.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon with at least 3-4 years’ small animal experience. Applicants should be confident with routine surgeries and consultations and comfortable managing a varied caseload independently while also working collaboratively within the team.

The practice would welcome candidates with a surgical bias or particular area of interest and values excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
