Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their team in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a close-knit, supportive practice that places strong emphasis on early diagnostics, continuity of care, and ongoing clinical development within a modern, well-equipped environment.
Working Hours / Rota
This role is offered on a full-time basis, with flexibility considered to support work–life balance. Working patterns, rota structure, and any weekend or out-of-hours commitments will be discussed in detail during the recruitment process to ensure a sustainable and well-supported schedule.
Role Description
This is a first-opinion GP role focused on delivering high-quality preventive care, accurate diagnosis, and consistent case management. You will manage a varied caseload, following treatment plans through with diligence and clinical integrity, while maintaining a strong focus on pet wellbeing. The practice values collaboration, and you will work closely with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues to deliver an excellent patient and client experience. There is strong encouragement for continued learning, with opportunities to pursue further clinical development and leadership training as part of your career progression.
Team Size
You will be joining a supportive team of four Veterinary Surgeons, six Registered Veterinary Nurses, and a dedicated reception team of five, all working together to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and outstanding standards of care.
Practice Details
This is a purpose-built, spacious veterinary practice equipped with modern facilities and designed to support high clinical standards. The practice places significant emphasis on training and development, with vets and nurses actively pursuing certificates and advanced qualifications. The Head Vet is currently working towards Advanced Veterinary Practitioner status, and several nurses are developing specialist skills through certification. The practice benefits from a strong culture of mentorship, learning, and long-term team development, supported by efficient front-of-house operations and a loyal client base.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have over three years’ veterinary experience, including at least one year practising in the UK. You will be confident in routine GP duties, passionate about early diagnostics, and committed to seeing cases through with consistency and care. Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine enthusiasm for continuous learning and development are essential. This role will suit a vet who thrives in a supportive team environment and values both clinical excellence and patient wellbeing.
