They pride themselves on delivering top-quality, modern medicine and surgery in a supportive and encouraging environment, ideal for new graduates.
Working Hours / Rota
The role is full time, based on a 4-day week with optional 5th day. Includes 1 night on call per week (with support from another vet), 1 full weekend on call every 6 weeks (followed by no weeknight on call and a long weekend), and 1 Saturday morning in 3. Bank holidays are equally shared.
Role Description
This mixed animal position includes 85% small animal, 10% equine, and 5% farm (or small animal only if preferred). You will have hands-on exposure to a wide range of cases across all species, with excellent support from experienced colleagues. The practice ensures new graduates are never left in sole charge and are gradually introduced to on-call responsibilities. Opportunities for professional growth, CPD, and involvement in practice development are strongly encouraged.
Team Size
You will be joining a supportive and experienced team with multiple vets providing on-call support, fostering a collaborative and educational work environment.
Practice Details
The practice is independently owned, with over a century of veterinary service to the community. Located in the heart of North East England, it benefits from access to excellent transport links, vibrant cities, countryside, and the coast.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a new graduate who is confident driving a manual vehicle in the UK. You should be enthusiastic about mixed or small animal practice, keen to develop your skills in a supported setting, and eager to become an integral part of a long-standing, community-based team.
