Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s practice is an experienced, forward-thinking small animal hospital that places genuine emphasis on clinical standards, team culture and sustainability. The practice is currently undergoing an exciting expansion to support its growing clinical ambition, allowing the team to continue delivering high-quality, patient-focused care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The role is based on a 4-day working week with a generally fixed day off. Weekend duties are shared on a 1:4 rota. There are no nights and no on-call responsibilities, with all OOH and inpatient care covered externally, allowing for an excellent work-life balance.

Role Description
This is an Experienced Veterinary Surgeon role suited to a confident clinician managing their own caseload and complex work-ups. You will work closely with colleagues across surgery, medicine, imaging and ECC, with strong support for developing subspecialty interests, including certificate study. There is opportunity to contribute to clinical meetings, audits, mentoring of junior vets and, for the right candidate, discussion around a future partnership pathway.

Team Size
The practice is supported by a large and well-established team, including 10 Veterinary Surgeons, 8 RVNs, 3 SVNs, 4 VCAs, and dedicated client care and administrative staff, fostering a collaborative and communicative working environment.

Practice Details
The practice is accredited as an ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic (Silver) and holds Investors in the Environment – Green Status. Ongoing expansion includes a new mezzanine featuring a dedicated dental suite, imaging room, CT suite, expanded wards, additional consult rooms, theatres, pharmacy and staff facilities. The practice also offers in-house physiotherapy and hydrotherapy rehabilitation services.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ post-graduate small animal experience and be confident with routine soft tissue surgery and diagnostic imaging. A growth mindset is essential, with enthusiasm for mentoring, collaboration and continuous improvement. Candidates working towards, or already holding, a certificate in areas such as surgery, imaging, medicine, ECC or dentistry are strongly encouraged to apply.
