Job Description
Introduction
Our Client’s practice is a popular first opinion GP clinic located in Putney, a riverside village in Southwest London. With its ‘village’ feel and close proximity to the River Thames and excellent transport links, this practice offers a fantastic opportunity to join a growing clinic with a loyal and well-bonded client base.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a part-time sole charge role working 2 days per week (Thursdays and Fridays). The rota includes 1 in 3 branch Saturdays and 1 in 10 hospital Sundays, plus 1 bank holiday per year. There are no out-of-hours (OOH) or on-call requirements, with OOH care provided by a nearby 24-hour hospital.
Role Description
This role involves a mix of consultations and surgery within a first-opinion GP setting. Responsibilities include delivering thorough clinical examinations, forming evidence-based treatment plans, maintaining accurate medical records, and prescribing in line with regulations. You will also support the day-to-day running of the branch alongside the RVN, including overseeing clinical diaries, supporting SOP implementation, and contributing to a collaborative team environment. The role offers a unique opportunity to help shape and grow the practice as part of a developing team.
Team Size
The current team includes 1 associate vet and a dedicated clinical support team, with plans to recruit a senior RVN. You will also receive support from a regional manager, a regional head vet, and a nearby 24-hour hospital team.
Practice Details
The practice is situated in a desirable London location with a strong, loyal client base, many of whom are insured. The clinic has recently introduced ultrasound facilities, enhancing its diagnostic capabilities. Complex cases and out-of-hours care are supported by a nearby 24-hour hospital, ensuring excellent clinical backup.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a confident Veterinary Surgeon comfortable with sole charge and both consultations and routine surgery. A collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and a commitment to high clinical standards are essential. An interest in diagnostic imaging would be beneficial. Candidates who are enthusiastic about building and developing a practice will particularly thrive in this role.
