Job Description

Introduction
This is a part-time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon role within a well-established first-opinion practice. The position is ideal for a Vet seeking excellent work–life balance while remaining clinically engaged within a supportive and well-resourced team.

General Practice
Our Client is a corporately owned practice operating a modern first-opinion clinic, supported by a large 24-hour hospital and a strong regional leadership structure.

Working Hours / Rota
This role is part-time, working two days per week (Mondays and Tuesdays). The rota includes participation in a 1:4 branch Saturday rotation, a 1:16 hospital Sunday rotation, and one bank holiday per year. There are no on-call requirements.

Role Description
The Veterinary Surgeon will work within a GP first-opinion setting, delivering consultations, performing routine surgical procedures, and triaging emergencies as required. The role includes working alongside a senior Veterinary Surgeon on one of the clinical days and is fully supported by an experienced nursing team. Additional clinical and operational support is provided by regional leadership and a nearby 24-hour hospital, which manages overnight care and advanced referrals.

Team Size
The practice team includes a senior Veterinary Surgeon, experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses, and support staff, with additional access to a wider regional and hospital-based clinical team.

Practice Details
The practice operates from a characterful and well-equipped site and is recognised as an ISFM cat-friendly clinic with strong involvement in feline-focused care initiatives. It is supported by a nearby 24-hour hospital offering advanced diagnostics and specialist services. The location benefits from excellent transport links, including immediate access to a major underground line and convenient connections to central London and the airport.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with experience in first-opinion practice. They will enjoy collaborative working, value strong nursing and leadership support, and have an interest in delivering high-quality general practice care. A feline interest would be advantageous, alongside good communication skills and a flexible, team-focused approach.
