Introduction
Our Client’s practice is a well-established first opinion GP clinic located in a charming Southwest London riverside setting, offering a unique village atmosphere while still benefiting from excellent city connectivity. The practice has a loyal and well-bonded client base and is entering an exciting new phase of growth, making it an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon looking to help shape and develop a thriving clinic.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a part-time position working 2 days per week (Thursdays and Fridays). The rota includes 1:3 branch Saturdays, 1:10 hospital Sundays, and 1 bank holiday per year. There are no on-call requirements, with out-of-hours care provided by a nearby 24-hour hospital.

Role Description
This sole charge position offers a varied caseload combining consultations and surgery. You will be responsible for examining patients, forming evidence-based treatment plans, performing routine surgical procedures within your competence, and maintaining accurate clinical records.

You will work closely with a senior RVN to manage the day-to-day running of the practice, including overseeing clinical standards, diary management, and ensuring SOPs are followed. The role also involves contributing to a collaborative team culture and referring complex cases appropriately.

With the practice in a growth phase, there is a unique opportunity to influence its development and help build a strong, cohesive team. Additionally, for those with an interest in diagnostic imaging, there is access to ultrasound facilities within the practice.

The team currently includes one associate vet and a dedicated clinical support team, all focused on delivering high standards of patient care and building strong relationships with clients.

The practice is a popular first opinion GP clinic situated in a sought-after London location close to the River Thames and excellent transport links. It has a strong and loyal client base, many of whom are insured, allowing for a high standard of clinical care. The clinic benefits from access to a nearby 24-hour hospital for out-of-hours and complex case referrals, as well as support from a regional manager and an experienced regional head vet. The practice is currently evolving, offering a unique opportunity to be part of building and shaping a growing team, alongside investment in facilities such as ultrasound for enhanced diagnostic capabilities.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon with solid clinical experience and confidence working in a sole charge role. You will be comfortable with both consultations and routine surgical procedures and have a proactive, collaborative approach to team working. Strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care are essential. An interest in developing the practice, supporting team growth, and potentially exploring diagnostic imaging would be highly beneficial.
