Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned hospital offering an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy and well-equipped 24-hour hospital. This role combines first opinion consultations with hospital responsibilities, providing an excellent balance of routine and more advanced clinical work within a supportive and collaborative environment. The hospital is committed to delivering exceptional patient care while investing heavily in both its facilities and its people.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time permanent position working 40 hours per week across four days. The role offers an excellent balance between clinical exposure and work-life balance while providing opportunities for ongoing professional development.
Role Description
As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will split your time between consultations and hospital duties, delivering exceptional care across a varied caseload. You will provide high-quality medical and surgical treatment, prepare tailored treatment plans, communicate effectively with clients, and maintain the highest standards of clinical and regulatory compliance. You will also support and mentor colleagues, contribute to clinical best practice across the wider veterinary community, and play an active role in maintaining a progressive clinical culture.
Team Size
You will become part of an experienced multidisciplinary team including highly skilled veterinary surgeons, an exceptional nursing team, dedicated overnight clinicians, and experienced leadership, all working together to provide outstanding patient care around the clock.

The hospital is a fully equipped 24-hour facility offering access to advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment, including CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, and comprehensive in-house laboratory facilities. Dedicated overnight inpatient care ensures excellent continuity of patient treatment, while the collaborative clinical environment provides outstanding opportunities for learning and career progression.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon with experience delivering exceptional first opinion care within a collaborative team environment. You will be confident with consultations and routine surgery, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate leadership qualities through mentoring and supporting colleagues. A commitment to maintaining high clinical standards and contributing to the continued development of the wider clinical team is essential.
