Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join a welcoming and forward-thinking team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive environment where clinical skills, particularly within medicine, are encouraged and developed.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working a 4-day week. The rota includes 1:9 weekends (Friday–Sunday) with Saturday morning surgery and on-call, followed by Monday off and a half day as well as 1:10 weekends at a secondary site.

Role Description
The Veterinary Surgeon will play an important role in delivering high-quality patient care across consultations, diagnostics, and medical case management. The practice supports a flexible working style, allowing the successful candidate to focus on consulting, complex case workups, or a mixture of both depending on their interests and strengths.

The role offers opportunities to manage and develop medical cases, perform diagnostic investigations, and collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure the highest standards of care. There is also scope to mentor and support new graduate veterinary surgeons, contributing to their development and confidence in clinical practice.

Veterinary surgeons benefit from modern diagnostic tools and a highly skilled nursing team, allowing them to focus on delivering effective treatment plans and excellent clinical outcomes. The role encourages professional growth and provides the opportunity to develop particular clinical interests.

Team Size
The veterinary team consists of 9 vets with a range of experience, including several certificate holders. They are supported by an experienced nursing team and dedicated support staff.

Practice Details
The practice is a well-established first-opinion small animal facility providing a diverse and varied caseload. The team focuses on delivering personalised medical treatment and diagnostics while maintaining progressive clinical standards.

Regular clinical meetings provide opportunities to discuss cases and share knowledge, alongside in-house CPD days designed to support continuous professional development. Certificates are actively encouraged, with several existing certificate holders within the wider organisation including advanced practitioners and clinicians with expertise in surgery and ECC.

The practice promotes a collaborative working culture where team members are encouraged to contribute to decision-making and help shape the future of the practice.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced veterinary surgeon with strong clinical decision-making skills and a particular interest in small animal medicine. Candidates who already hold a certificate or are interested in pursuing further qualifications will be well suited to this role.
