Job Description

Introduction
Our Client is an independent, growing veterinary group seeking a dynamic Veterinary Surgeon to join their new purpose-built practice in Newbury. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a modern facility within a supportive team, with access to strong clinical backing and opportunities for professional development within a progressive, family-owned group.

Rota Details
This is a full-time role on a 4-day week with every third Saturday morning. Part-time hours are also available. There is no on-call, no Sunday work, and no bank holiday shifts, supporting an excellent work-life balance.

Information About the Practice
The Newbury surgery opened recently and continues to grow rapidly. It features digital radiography, ultrasonography, an Idexx in-house integrated laboratory, and dedicated surgical facilities used by visiting specialist ophthalmology, soft tissue, and orthopaedic surgeons. The practice is part of a larger group of 13 practices, offering the security of a sizeable network while retaining the personal touch of an independent, family-owned business.

Description of the Role
The successful candidate will provide high-quality preventive and medical care, manage a varied caseload, and contribute to the ongoing development of the practice. Initially, the role will involve shared sole-charge alongside other permanent vets and peripatetic teams. Full support is available from the wider group, including 20 surgeons and 70 staff, ensuring collaboration and teamwork across the network.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal applicant will have at least 2 years of post-graduate experience, with the confidence to manage routine and complex cases. They should be a proactive, adaptable team player who is committed to delivering high standards of patient care and client service.

Practice Equipment List
The surgery is fully equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical facilities, including digital radiography, ultrasonography, an in-house Idexx laboratory, and specialist surgical suites, ensuring the team can provide comprehensive care.
