Job Description

Introduction
Our Client is seeking an Equine and Farm Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their established mixed practice in Dundee, Scotland.

This is a full-time opportunity within a multi-branch practice serving Tayside, Angus and Fife, offering a varied caseload across equine, farm and smallholder work. The role combines clinical variety, strong support and a genuine commitment to work–life balance in one of Scotland’s most scenic regions.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position with an evenly shared rota.

The rota includes protected time off after night on-call, a half-day each week and a Monday off following a weekend on-call.

Additional support is provided through an out-of-hours phone service and a lone worker safety scheme.

Role Description
You will manage a varied caseload across equine and farm animal work, including smallholders, delivering high standards of clinical care in both ambulatory and practice settings.

The role is well-supported, making it suitable for both experienced Veterinary Surgeons and recent graduates looking to develop their skills within a collaborative team environment.

You will work as part of the dedicated equine and farm team within a broader mixed practice, contributing to clinical excellence and maintaining strong client relationships across the region.

Practice Details
The practice is forward-thinking and well-equipped, with equine stables and stocks across two locations.

Facilities include an in-house laboratory and advanced diagnostic equipment, alongside access to visiting specialists to support more complex cases and reduce external referrals.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a passion for Equine and Farm Animal medicine and a desire to develop within a supportive, team-focused environment.

You will demonstrate strong communication skills, a collaborative approach to case management and a commitment to delivering high standards of patient and client care.

Both experienced Veterinary Surgeons and recent graduates with the right attitude and enthusiasm are encouraged to apply.
