Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s practice in Daventry, Northamptonshire is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon seeking greater surgical exposure, clinical autonomy and progression within a supportive practice environment. Located in the heart of a traditional market town with excellent transport links, the practice benefits from a loyal and long-standing client base alongside a collaborative and welcoming clinical team.

This role is particularly suited to a surgically biased Veterinary Surgeon looking to develop and build their own surgical caseload within a well-equipped first opinion practice.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time role working 40 hours across 4 days, although part-time applications are also welcomed.

The rota includes either 1 in 3 Saturdays or 1 in 6 full weekends at a nearby 24-hour veterinary hospital. There are no out-of-hours duties.

Role Description
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will manage a varied small animal caseload involving consultations, diagnostics and a strong focus on surgery. With no other surgically biased vets currently within the team, surgical cases will be directed to the successful candidate, creating an excellent opportunity to develop confidence, expand surgical skills and build a rewarding surgical caseload.

The role also includes developing tailored treatment plans, delivering high standards of patient and client care and contributing to the development of the wider clinical team through collaborative working and knowledge sharing.

The practice offers excellent support for ongoing professional development through funded certificates, internal CPD and access to wider clinical communities and referral hospital support.

Team Size
The practice has a supportive and friendly clinical team working collaboratively to deliver excellent standards of patient care within a welcoming and community-focused environment.

Practice Details
The surgery is well-equipped to support both medical and surgical caseloads and benefits from access to nearby 24-hour hospital facilities and wider clinical support networks. The practice has a loyal client base and strong community presence, creating an enjoyable and rewarding working environment.

Located in Daventry, the practice offers the balance of market town living with excellent access to the M1 motorway, A45 and surrounding countryside.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for clinical excellence, surgery and client care. Applicants should be confident managing surgical and medical cases while enjoying the autonomy to build and develop their own caseload.

The practice would particularly welcome experienced Veterinary Surgeons keen to lead clinically, inspire colleagues and continue progressing their surgical expertise within a supportive environment.
