Job Description

Introduction
Our client is seeking a confident and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy, welcoming small animal practice in Dagenham, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet who enjoys working as part of a supportive team while also taking pride in delivering high-quality clinical care. With a strong focus on staff wellbeing, the practice promotes a positive and friendly atmosphere, offering flexible working options and structured 20-minute consults to maintain a healthy work–life balance.

Working Hours / Rota
This role can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, with full time defined as a 40-hour working week. The rota includes 1 in 3 weekends with days off in lieu, and there are no out-of-hours responsibilities, making this an ideal position for someone seeking stability and balance alongside varied clinical exposure.

Role Description
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality veterinary care across routine consultations, dentals, and general surgery. The practice sees a wide variety of cases, giving you the chance to work up patients thoroughly while building meaningful relationships with clients. With generous CPD support and an environment that encourages clinical development, this role is well suited to a vet with 3–4+ years’ experience who enjoys providing an excellent service and is keen to continue advancing their skills.

Team Size
You will be joining a close-knit group of three experienced vets who work collaboratively and support each other both clinically and personally. The team is known for its strong spirit, open communication, and shared commitment to patient welfare. This creates a warm and motivated working environment where everyone feels valued.

Practice Details
The practice is bright, spacious, purpose-built, and air-conditioned, having opened in 2015 to industry-leading standards. Modern facilities include digital X-ray, a full dental suite, and an in-house laboratory. Conveniently located near Dagenham Dock Rail with excellent access to the M25 and A13, the practice offers free onsite parking and benefits from direct rail links into central London in under 25 minutes. This accessibility, paired with a well-equipped clinical environment, makes it an appealing workplace for an experienced clinician seeking a supportive and progressive setting.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced small animal Veterinary Surgeon with at least three to four years of clinical experience. You should be comfortable performing routine surgeries, managing dental cases, and handling a busy consultation diary with confidence. Strong communication skills, dedication to patient and client care, and the desire to build lasting client relationships are essential. If you have a particular clinical interest you wish to develop, you will be well supported with funding and encouragement to pursue certificate-level training.
