Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is an independent veterinary group seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their brand-new practice opening in Crowborough. This is an exciting opportunity to help establish a modern clinic from the outset while benefiting from the support of a large, family-owned veterinary group that prioritises investment in its people, facilities, and clinical standards. The practice offers genuine clinical freedom, excellent work-life balance, and the backing of an experienced network of veterinary professionals.
Working Hours / Rota
Full-time vets will work a 4-day week with a 1 in 2 Saturday rota. Part-time applications are also welcomed, with flexible working arrangements available. There are no out-of-hours duties, no Sunday working, and no Bank Holiday commitments, allowing for an excellent work-life balance.
Role Description
This role offers the opportunity to help establish a brand-new first opinion practice while providing a varied mix of consultations and routine surgery. Initially, the position will involve periods of sole charge, supported by experienced nurses, the practice owner, visiting specialist surgeons, and the wider clinical network. You will enjoy clinical autonomy while having access to support from an experienced team of veterinary professionals across the wider group. The practice actively encourages continued professional development through a generous CPD allowance and provides excellent opportunities for long-term career progression.
Team Size
You will initially work alongside dedicated on-site nursing support, the practice owner, and visiting specialist surgeons, while benefiting from the experience and collaboration of a wider team of approximately thirty veterinary surgeons and eighty support staff across the independent group.
Practice Details & Equipment
The practice is a brand-new purpose-built facility opening this autumn, equipped with digital radiography, ultrasonography, and an integrated IDEXX in-house laboratory. Dedicated surgical facilities are available for both routine procedures and visiting specialist surgeons. The practice is situated alongside a busy pet retail and grooming centre, offering excellent visibility and a growing client base from opening.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon with at least two years of clinical experience. You will be confident managing both consultations and routine surgical procedures, comfortable with periods of sole charge, and committed to delivering exceptional patient and client care. Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and enthusiasm for helping develop a new practice are essential.
