This role involves working across two well-established practices in the Brighton area, offering a varied caseload and exposure to different clinical environments.
Working Hours / Rota
This position offers both full-time and part-time flexibility. The rota includes one evening clinic per week finishing at 6:30pm and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings finishing at 12:30pm. There are no out-of-hours requirements as these are outsourced to a nearby provider. The practice strongly encourages proper lunch breaks and promotes a healthy work-life balance, with overtime being rare and paid if required.
Role Description
This is a first opinion GP Veterinary Surgeon role covering a mix of consultations, routine and more complex surgical procedures, and dentistry for a varied caseload including cats, dogs, and small furries. The role offers a high level of clinical freedom with no target-driven environment, allowing vets to focus on delivering excellent patient care. There are strong opportunities for professional development, including support towards further qualifications, while building meaningful relationships with clients is a key aspect of the role.
Team Size
The team consists of 4 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 RVNs, and a dedicated reception team. The practice benefits from a close-knit and supportive culture, with many long-standing team members contributing to a stable and positive working environment.
Practice Details
This is an RCVS-accredited, independent and award-winning practice with an excellent reputation locally and nationally. The practice operates across two sites, including a newly opened, modern clinic with four consulting rooms, a large theatre, and a prep and hospital area, alongside an additional site with consulting and hospital facilities. Its coastal location provides an excellent lifestyle balance, while its commitment to continuity of care and high clinical standards makes it a standout employer.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a confident GP Veterinary Surgeon with solid experience in first opinion practice. They will have a strong interest in surgery and dentistry, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building long-term client relationships. A proactive, team-oriented attitude and a desire for continued professional development are essential.
Equipment
