Introduction
Our Client is an independently owned, family-run veterinary group seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to work across two closely connected practices in Bournemouth and Christchurch. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team on the Dorset coast, with a strong emphasis on clinical development, work-life balance and long-term staff retention.

Working Hours / Rota
Full-time candidates work a four-day week with Saturdays shared on a 1:4 rota. There are no on-call duties, Sundays or bank holiday requirements, providing an excellent work-life balance. Flexibility around working arrangements can also be considered.

Role Description
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will manage a varied first opinion caseload across the Bournemouth and Christchurch practices, with support available from experienced on-site clinicians and the wider veterinary group.

The role provides opportunities to develop clinical interests through a generous CPD budget and exposure to visiting ophthalmology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeons. The practices work closely together, allowing for collaborative case management and knowledge sharing.

Team Size
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced clinicians and support colleagues across the two local practices, with additional support from a wider group of approximately 25 Veterinary Surgeons and 100 team members.

Practice Details & Equipment
Both practices are modern, purpose-built facilities equipped with digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasonography and integrated in-house laboratory facilities. Dedicated surgical facilities are available for the practices’ own caseload as well as visiting ophthalmology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeons.

The practices are located around Bournemouth and Christchurch on the Dorset coastline and work closely together to provide a collaborative clinical service.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon with at least two years’ experience who is confident managing a varied first opinion caseload. They should be enthusiastic, collaborative and committed to delivering high standards of patient and client care.

The position would particularly suit a Vet looking for strong clinical support, opportunities to develop their interests and a sustainable rota without on-call, Sunday or bank holiday duties.
