Introduction
Our Client is an independently owned veterinary group with a state-of-the-art small animal practice in Barnsley looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a particular interest in Surgery. This is an opportunity to join an established team with a varied caseload and a strong focus on clinical development, patient care and client service.

Working Hours / Rota
Both full-time and part-time candidates can be considered. The rota will include two late shifts per week alongside a shared 1:4 weekend rotation. Specific weekly hours have not been provided and can be discussed during the recruitment process.

Role Description
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will deliver a broad range of first-opinion care, including preventative healthcare and the investigation and treatment of sick and injured pets. The role has a particular focus on candidates with an interest in Surgery, providing scope to continue developing skills in this area within a modern clinical environment.

There is a strong emphasis on ongoing professional development, with continuous CPD encouraged across the practice and access to internal leadership training for those interested in future progression.

Team Size
The clinical team currently includes three Veterinary Surgeons and four Registered Veterinary Nurses, supported by an established reception and wider support team. Existing veterinary interests include exotics and diagnostic imaging, creating a varied clinical environment with opportunities to share knowledge and experience.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a genuine interest in Surgery and a commitment to delivering high standards of clinical care. They should be confident managing a varied first-opinion caseload and passionate about preventative healthcare and pet wellbeing.

Strong communication and client-care skills are essential, alongside a collaborative approach and the ability to integrate effectively with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
