Our Client’s practice is a fully independent small animal practice based in Aylesbury, offering an exciting opportunity for a confident and motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, close-knit and highly experienced team. Independence allows the practice to prioritise both clinical excellence and genuine work / life balance, creating a positive, supportive and enjoyable working environment.

Working Hours / Rota

The practice operates with a strong emphasis on work / life balance, supported by a well-managed diary and 20-minute consultations. Weekday hours run until 6pm, allowing evenings free. Weekend duties are limited to Saturdays only, finishing at 2pm on a 1:3 rota. There are no out-of-hours responsibilities and the practice does not open on bank holidays.

Role Description

This role involves delivering high-quality small animal veterinary care within a supportive and collaborative team. The caseload is structured and manageable, allowing time to maintain excellent clinical standards and patient care. There is a strong focus on professional growth, with funded CPD and training available to support further skill development and long-term career progression.

Team Size

You will be joining a small, experienced and family-orientated team who work closely together and support one another. The team values collaboration, shared learning and maintaining a positive working culture.

Practice Details

The practice is well equipped and designed to support a high standard of clinical care, offering a wide range of diagnostic and surgical capabilities. Facilities include separate cat and dog wards to reduce patient stress and improve welfare. The independent nature of the practice allows for clinical freedom, flexibility and a strong focus on both patient outcomes and staff wellbeing. The surgery is conveniently located with ample free parking available.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon registered with the RCVS who is confident in general practice and keen to continue developing their skills. They will enjoy working collaboratively within a close-knit team, demonstrate a positive attitude, and have a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. A motivated mindset and desire for ongoing learning will be key to success in this role.

Practice Equipment

The practice is well equipped with Digital X-Ray, Ultrasound, Dental Machine, Idexx Lab, Catalyst, Lasersight, multiple drip pumps, Bearhugger warming devices, extensive orthopaedic equipment, high knee otoscopes, and Tonopen. Separate cat and dog wards are available.
