Job Description

Introduction
Our client is offering an exciting Partnership opportunity for an ambitious Veterinary Surgeon ready to take the next step in their career. This is a rare opportunity to take the reins of an established 24-hour veterinary hospital in Nottingham, following the retirement of the current Partner in August this year.
This unique co-ownership model allows Vets to invest between 10% and 40% in their clinic, combining clinical autonomy with business ownership. Partners can influence the direction of their practice, uphold high clinical standards, and enjoy the rewards of personal equity growth within an established, supported network.

Rota Details
Partners typically begin on a full-time basis to establish their preferred ways of working, build strong relationships with the team, and implement changes to support future growth. Over time, as the business develops, the goal is for the clinic to operate smoothly without the Partner’s constant presence, allowing for flexibility to tailor working hours and responsibilities to personal and professional ambitions.

Information About the Practice
This is an established 24-hour hospital in Nottingham which has previously been Partner led and well run. The site benefits from a stable team and strong foundations, offering an excellent platform for a senior Vet or experienced clinician to step into a leadership role and identify new opportunities for growth.
As a hospital environment, the practice offers a broad clinical setting with the support of a dedicated night team, CT on site, and a strong range of equipment and facilities. The clinic would suit someone who can provide clear clinical direction, support continued team development, and help drive high standards across the site.

Description of the Role
As a Partner, you will lead the hospital both clinically and operationally, ensuring the highest standards of patient care while shaping the strategic direction of the business. You’ll have full clinical autonomy and the support of the group’s back-office, marketing, HR, and operations teams, allowing you to focus on clinical excellence and practice growth.
This opportunity would suit a senior Vet, Clinical Director, or an experienced GP Vet ready to step into a more strategic leadership position. Previous leadership experience would be beneficial, particularly in supporting a stable team and driving clinical service and standards, but the role could also suit someone looking for a meaningful step up in their career.
This is a unique opportunity to combine veterinary leadership with entrepreneurial progression, building a business that reflects your vision and values.

Path to Partnership
This partnership model offers a clear and transparent route to ownership, with equity stakes ranging from 10% to 40%, and a minimum investment of 10%. In-house financing is available at 5% interest for up to 10 years, with the option to repay early without penalty. Repayments can also be made directly from monthly profit shares.
Partners must remain in the business for at least two years before exiting, with an attractive 7x EBITDA valuation for those who continue beyond ten years. For clinics in early growth or redevelopment phases, a guaranteed salary of up to £75,000 per year is provided, ensuring stability while growing the business.
Successful Partners may also have opportunities to invest in additional locations, further enhancing their career progression and long-term earning potential.

The Ideal Candidate
To qualify for investment, applicants must have a minimum of two years’ UK general practice experience, with confidence in routine surgery and sole charge work.
The ideal candidate will be a confident Veterinary Surgeon with the ability to lead from the front, support a capable team, and identify opportunities to develop clinical services and future growth. Some leadership experience would be an advantage, although this could also suit a Vet ready to take the next step into a Partner role with the right support.
No prior business management experience is required, just a genuine passion for leadership, development, and building a successful veterinary business.
