Job Description

Introduction
Our Client is an independently owned hospital seeking a dedicated RVN to join their established nursing team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a respected hospital environment that promotes high clinical standards, teamwork, and continued professional growth.

Rota Details
The rota is prepared by the Head Nurse and includes a mix of day shifts, weekends, and night duties. Nurses working overnight or at weekends are provided with a duty room and remain on-call for in-patient care. OOH calls are handled by Vets Now, with in-house nurses covering patients up until the point of handover.

Information About the Practice
The hospital is supported by a large, experienced team and upholds strong clinical standards in line with RCVS guidelines. The culture is professional, inclusive, and supportive, with open communication across the team. Nurses are encouraged to pursue ongoing CPD and benefit from strong leadership provided by the Practice Principal, Practice Manager, and Head Nurse.

Description of the Role
The role includes a wide range of nursing responsibilities such as patient admissions and discharges, medication administration, fluid therapy, surgical support, recovery care, euthanasia assistance, lab work, and stock control. Additional duties include general cleaning, record keeping, restocking, and occasional reception cover. Nurses also take client calls during the transition period before Vets Now assumes full OOH responsibilities.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified RVN with previous supervisory experience, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a calm, enthusiastic attitude. They should be confident working as part of a busy, collaborative team and able to remain composed under pressure.

Practice Equipment List
The hospital is well-equipped with dedicated theatres, a separate recovery suite, kennel facilities, a dispensary, and a comprehensive range of clinical equipment to support a varied caseload. Nurses rotate through each area to maintain engagement and clinical variety.

Any Other Details
A duty room is provided for night and weekend shifts. The rota offers variety and includes protected lunch breaks. The hospital promotes internal progression and offers a clear structure for career development.
