Job Description
Introduction
Our Client’s practice is a long-established and well-loved veterinary clinic with a loyal and growing client base. Having seen significant growth in recent years, the practice is now looking to expand its nursing team to support increasing demand. The clinic offers a welcoming and supportive environment, ideal for both newly qualified and experienced nurses.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a part-time role working 2 days per week (Mondays and Tuesdays, 8-hour shifts). The rota includes a 1:3 Saturday rotation and 1:10 Sundays working alongside a nearby hospital team, plus 1 bank holiday per year. There are no on-call requirements.
Role Description
This is a varied branch nursing role where you will be involved in all aspects of patient care, including assisting in theatre and consultations, maintaining patient records, and ensuring high standards of welfare for all animals. You will also support stock management, equipment care, and contribute to a clean and efficient clinical environment.
The role includes client interaction through reception duties, as well as supporting and mentoring student nurses and VCAs. This position offers a great opportunity to build confidence and develop skills within a supportive and experienced team, while contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
Team Size
You will be joining a highly experienced and supportive team including a senior vet, an experienced RVN with many years of service, VCAs, and additional support staff, all working collaboratively in a friendly environment.
Practice Details
The practice is well-equipped and designed to support a high standard of clinical care, featuring two consult rooms, a dedicated theatre, and a large separate prep room. It also benefits from modern diagnostic equipment including digital and dental x-ray and ultrasound. The clinic has a unique advantage of a large outdoor space for staff use, enhancing wellbeing during breaks. The practice is supported by a nearby veterinary hospital for out-of-hours care and more complex case referrals, ensuring continuity of care and additional clinical support when needed. It is conveniently located with excellent transport links and on-site parking.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse or newly qualified RVN who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care. You will be a team player with strong communication skills and a proactive attitude, comfortable working across a variety of nursing duties. An interest in mentoring and supporting junior team members would be beneficial, along with a willingness to contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment. This role would suit someone looking for a part-time position while still gaining valuable clinical experience and development.
