Job Description

Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned Hospital seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a large and supportive 24-hour team. This role offers exposure to a varied caseload within a collaborative and well-equipped clinical environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week with 1 in 4 weekends and on-call duties.

Role Description
The Registered Veterinary Nurse will be responsible for delivering high standards of patient care within a busy 24-hour hospital environment. Duties include supporting surgical procedures, completing pre- and post-operative care, and carrying out nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities.

The role involves monitoring patients, managing admissions and discharges, dispensing medications, and ensuring smooth patient transfers where required. Nurses will also play an active role in maintaining efficient clinical workflows and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and operational standards.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, the successful candidate will support team coordination, contribute to daily briefings, and help maintain a collaborative and efficient working environment.

Team Size
The team includes veterinary surgeons, 4 RVNs, 4 SVNs, 3 VCAs, and a dedicated support team working within a large multidisciplinary hospital.

Practice Details
The hospital is a well-established 24-hour facility with modern, recently refurbished consultation areas. The practice is equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment, including imaging, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and orthopaedic tools, alongside a comprehensive in-house laboratory.

The practice benefits from a strong regional network, providing collaboration opportunities and access to a wide range of clinical expertise. The location offers excellent transport links, making it easily accessible.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse with experience delivering high standards of patient and client care. Candidates should demonstrate strong teamwork skills, effective communication, and confidence in supporting nurse-led consults and clinical procedures.

A proactive approach, alongside the ability to support and influence colleagues positively, will be beneficial. Experience within a busy clinical environment will support success in this role.
