Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s hospital in Teesside is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to take a leading role within its inpatient service. This is an exciting opportunity to work across both first opinion and referral caseloads within a modern and well-equipped hospital environment focused on delivering exceptional patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
This role operates on a 3-week rolling rota pattern averaging 39 hours per week. Shifts include a mix of 12-hour shifts with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break and 10.5-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The rota includes 1 in 3 weekends and a share of bank holidays.

Role Description
The successful candidate will spend two weeks out of every three leading inpatient care across both the first opinion and referral sides of the hospital, ensuring patients receive outstanding treatment and recovery support. The remaining week will be spent on the GP side of the hospital rotating through theatre and consults. Responsibilities include managing complex medical and surgical cases, Continuous Rate Infusions (CRIs), indwelling catheters, inpatient monitoring and delivering exceptional standards of nursing care within a collaborative hospital team.

Team Size
The role involves working alongside a talented and experienced team of RVNs within a supportive multidisciplinary hospital environment.

Practice Details
The newly developed hospital features 9 spacious consulting rooms, 3 fully equipped operating theatres, a diagnostic suite, digital X-ray, a dedicated dental suite and an isolation unit. The hospital also provides separate cat and dog wards designed for low-stress patient care, alongside a central prep area supporting efficient clinical workflow. The facility delivers first opinion, referral and out-of-hours care to the surrounding community.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced RVN with a strong interest in inpatient and ECC care. They will be confident managing CRIs, indwelling catheters and a wide variety of complex medical and surgical cases while maintaining excellent clinical standards and working collaboratively within a skilled hospital team.
