Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s practice is a thriving, multi-branch veterinary group with their Staines surgery acting as the central hub for an 8-branch practice. They deliver exceptional veterinary care using modern medical and surgical techniques within an open, friendly, and professional environment, supported by state-of-the-art facilities and a strong team culture.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week. You’ll work 8-hour shifts covering a range of duties between 7:30am and 10:00pm. The weekend rota is 1:8 Saturdays, with a day off in lieu. There are no out-of-hours duties, as VetsNow provides emergency cover on-site. The role is primarily based at the Staines branch, with occasional support at other branches.

Role Description
In this role, you’ll be a key part of the nursing team, supporting a varied caseload and utilising a broad range of nursing skills. Duties include anaesthesia, inpatient care, lab work, nurse consultations, and theatre support, with the opportunity to develop further in a busy and diverse workload. The practice is passionate about training and development, and you’ll be encouraged to grow your niche, including progression within coaching and mentorship of trainee nurses.

Team Size
You will be based at the central hub of an 8-branch group, working as part of a wider team alongside Veterinary Surgeons, RVNs, and support staff in a collaborative and training-focused environment.

Practice Details
The Staines site is the main hub and is equipped with advanced facilities including endoscopy and key-hole surgery capability, an orthopaedic suite, a CT scanner, dental X-rays, dedicated dog and cat wards, and dedicated surgical preparation areas—supporting high clinical standards and excellent patient care.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and confident Registered Veterinary Nurse (or equivalent-qualified) who enjoys a varied workload and is keen to progress clinically. You’ll be confident with anaesthesia monitoring, inpatient care, laboratory work, nurse consultations, and supporting procedures. Candidates must have clinical coach training or be willing to train as a clinical coach. A full driving licence is required, alongside a proactive attitude, strong communication, and a genuine team-first approach.
