Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s hospital is a state-of-the-art veterinary facility forming part of a proudly independent group, offering both first opinion and referral services. With a strong focus on clinical freedom, personalised care, and team wellbeing, the practice provides a supportive and progressive environment where veterinary professionals are truly valued.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week across a 4-day rota, with 10-hour shifts between 7:30am and 7:30pm depending on schedule. The role includes a 1 in 7 weekend and bank holiday rota with time off in lieu. There are no out-of-hours requirements, aside from occasional last-resort backup to a dedicated emergency team.

Role Description
This is a varied Registered Veterinary Nurse role based primarily within a busy hospital setting. You will be involved in both first opinion and referral work, supporting a wide range of medical and surgical cases. Responsibilities include inpatient care, assisting with procedures, supporting diagnostics, and delivering high standards of patient and client care.

The role offers excellent exposure to advanced imaging, surgical procedures, and rehabilitation, providing opportunities to develop and pursue clinical interests. You will also have the chance to contribute to wider team initiatives and benefit from strong support for professional development and career progression.

Team Size
You will be working within a large, collaborative team across multiple branches and hospitals, supported by experienced veterinary surgeons, RVNs, and specialist teams, fostering a strong and supportive network.

Practice Details
The hospital is a modern, well-equipped facility offering advanced diagnostics, referral services, and 24/7 patient care through collaboration with emergency and referral teams. The wider group includes multiple branch practices and hospitals, providing a diverse caseload and excellent clinical exposure. The environment is designed to be welcoming and comfortable, with a strong emphasis on team wellbeing, clinical excellence, and continuous development.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse with a full driving licence. You will be passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and keen to develop your clinical skills within a hospital environment. Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills are essential, along with a positive attitude and alignment with the practice’s values of respect, empathy, and collaboration.
