Our Client is a corporately owned practice/hospital and is a Tier 3 hospital-status small animal practice with an outstanding local reputation across the Derby and Nottingham area. Established for over 40 years, the practice is proud of the high-quality, compassionate care it provides to the local community. This is an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit, positive team affectionately known as “Gang Green”, within a supportive and forward-thinking hospital environment.

Working Hours / Rota

This is a full-time role working a 40-hour week with scheduled consulting sessions across four sites, typically between 10.00am and 6.00pm. The rota follows a two-week alternating pattern, with Week One working Monday to Friday and Week Two working Tuesday to Saturday, providing regular full days off. Every other Saturday includes a consulting shift in the morning and urgent operations in the afternoon. There are no out-of-hours duties, as the practice has a dedicated night team. Bank Holidays are covered on a voluntary basis.

Role Description

The Consulting Registered Veterinary Nurse will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care through nurse-led consultations and supporting urgent procedures. You will work within a busy hospital environment with a varied medical and surgical caseload, alongside two consulting nurses each weekday. This role offers the opportunity to thrive clinically, build strong client relationships, and contribute to a collaborative, positive team culture while developing your nursing skills and professional interests.

Team Size

You will be part of a large, experienced hospital team, including certificate-holding Veterinary Surgeons, a skilled and supportive nursing team, and a friendly reception team, all working closely together to deliver exceptional care.

Ideal Candidate
