Our Client’s practice is one of the busiest first-opinion branches within a well-established veterinary group, located in the vibrant and creative area of Hackney, East London. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced RVN to join a high-performing, friendly team within a fast-paced but supportive branch environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The role is available on either a full-time or part-time basis. Full-time hours are 40 hours per week and include a 1 in 4 branch Saturday rota, a 1 in 10 Sunday rotation at a nearby 24-hour hospital, and one bank holiday per year worked at the hospital. The rota is designed to provide variety while ensuring strong clinical support and work-life balance.
Role Description
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality nursing care across consultations, theatre, and inpatient support. Responsibilities include assisting veterinary surgeons during procedures, maintaining detailed patient records, ensuring high welfare standards, managing stock and equipment, and supporting student nurses through training and supervision. You will also contribute to reception duties when required and help maintain a positive, collaborative team environment.
Team Size
You will work alongside a large and experienced team consisting of multiple veterinary surgeons, a senior RVN, qualified RVNs, and trainee nurses. The team is well known for its supportive culture, strong teamwork, and shared sense of humour during busy days.
Practice Details
The practice operates as part of a busy local hub and works closely with a nearby consult-only clinic for advanced surgical cases. Facilities include two consulting rooms, a large prep and theatre area, separate dog and cat wards, a well-equipped laboratory, and a newly installed ultrasound machine. Out-of-hours and specialist care is provided by a nearby 24-hour veterinary hospital, ensuring excellent continuity of care.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse who thrives in a busy clinical environment while valuing teamwork and high standards of care. You will be confident across a varied caseload, proactive in supporting colleagues, and passionate about delivering excellent patient and client care. Experience supporting student nurses and working within a dynamic branch setting would be advantageous.
