Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned veterinary practice in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its busy and supportive clinical team. The practice has an established client base and offers an excellent opportunity for an RVN looking to develop their clinical skills, with particular scope to gain exposure to exotic cases.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a permanent, full-time position. The successful candidate will participate in weekend, some bank holiday and on-call duties supporting a nearby 24-hour hospital in Watford. Specific weekday hours and the frequency of these duties have not been provided.

Role Description
The successful Registered Veterinary Nurse will deliver nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities while supporting the Veterinary Surgeons with consultations, surgery and other procedures. Responsibilities will also include patient monitoring, inpatient care, admissions and discharges, alongside maintaining high clinical and operational standards.

The practice is looking to further develop its existing caseload, including its exotics provision, creating opportunities for the successful RVN to broaden their experience and develop additional clinical interests.

Team Size
The practice has three experienced Veterinary Surgeons, including one Vet with a certificate in Exotics. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the wider nursing and support team, with additional clinical support available through a nearby 24-hour hospital.

Practice Details
This is a busy first opinion practice with an established client base and a growing interest in exotic medicine. One of the practice’s Veterinary Surgeons holds an Exotics certificate, and the team is looking to further develop this area of the caseload. Additional emergency and hospital support is available through a nearby 24-hour hospital.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality patient and client care. They should be a collaborative team player who is comfortable with nurse-led appointments, inpatient nursing and supporting surgical and medical procedures.

An interest in exotics would be beneficial given the practice’s existing expertise and plans to grow this area, although this has not been stated as an essential requirement.
