Job Description
Introduction
Our Client’s practice is a well-established small animal branch located in a popular area of West London. With a long-standing presence in the local community and a growing client base, the practice continues to expand and is now seeking an additional part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to support its busy GP caseload.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a part-time role working 2 days per week on Thursdays and Fridays, with 8-hour shifts. The role includes a 1:3 Saturday rota shared between nearby sites, a 1:10 Sunday rota working alongside a hospital team, and 1 bank holiday per year. There are no on-call requirements, and there is flexibility to explore full-time opportunities across the wider region if desired.
Role Description
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of nursing care, assisting veterinary surgeons in both theatre and consultations, and maintaining accurate and detailed patient records. You will ensure excellent patient welfare, manage stock levels, and maintain equipment to a high standard. The role also includes supporting student nurses and VCAs, assisting with staff training and inductions, and contributing to reception duties when required. This is a varied and hands-on role offering strong clinical exposure and development opportunities.
Team Size
You will be part of a supportive and experienced team including a senior vet, associate vet, senior RVN, trainee nurses, and a dedicated reception team, all working collaboratively in a positive environment.
Practice Details
The practice is well-equipped with two consultation rooms, a large and bright theatre, and a prep area. It is supported by a nearby veterinary hospital for out-of-hours care and complex case referrals. The wider group offers extensive support, including multiple branches, hospitals, and a nurse training college, alongside a strong focus on wellbeing and professional development.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse, although newly qualified nurses are encouraged to apply. You will have excellent communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a passion for delivering high standards of patient and client care. A proactive and organised approach, along with an interest in supporting and mentoring junior team members, will be highly valued.
