Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice in North Harrow seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week with a fair share of weekends. There are no OOH or on-call shifts.
Role Description
The RVN will support surgical and medical procedures, complete pre- and post-operative care, monitor anaesthesia, run nurse consults, and perform Schedule 3 activities. Responsibilities also include inpatient monitoring, admissions and discharges, medication dispensing, and assisting with patient transfers. The role involves participating in team briefings to ensure smooth daily operations.
Team Size
The practice is staffed by 3 vets (including a Branch Partner), 1 RVN, 2 PCAs, and a Practice Manager.
Practice Details
The clinic has been serving pets since the 1960s and is equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, haematology and biochemistry analysers, multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring, and therapeutic laser. More complex cases are referred to the Watford 24-hour hospital, which offers advanced diagnostics including CT, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and specialist-led services.
The Ideal Candidate
The position suits an RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse with excellent clinical and client-care skills. Confidence in nurse consultations and Schedule 3 work is essential, along with strong teamwork, communication, and mentoring abilities.
