Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their beautiful first-opinion clinic. This is an excellent opportunity for an RVN who enjoys a busy GP environment and wants to be part of an evolving, supportive team with strong links to a 24-hour hospital service.
Working Hours / Rota
The role offers flexibility of up to 30 hours per week, making it ideal for an RVN seeking part-time work, with the option to explore full-time hours if preferred. The rota includes participation in a 1:4 branch Saturday rotation and a 1:10 Sunday rotation along with responsibility for one bank holiday per year worked at the hospital. There are no on-call duties associated with this position. As part of your induction, you will spend a dedicated day at the hospital to ensure you feel confident and well prepared before your first Sunday shift.
Role Description
This is a busy GP nursing role within a growing first-opinion practice. You will support the day-to-day caseload, working closely with the senior vet and an experienced nursing team in a well-designed clinical environment. The practice has a loyal and expanding client base, offering variety and consistency in caseload. You will have access to experienced RVNs for support as you settle into the role, and encouragement to develop your skills further. For those interested in career progression, there is clear support and access to leadership training within the wider group.
Team Size
You will work alongside a senior veterinarian and an established team of Registered Veterinary Nurses within the practice, with additional support available from the wider hospital and regional teams.
Practice Details
The clinic is a modern, well-designed practice featuring an open-span preparation area, walk-in kennels, and a large, welcoming reception space for clients. The practice benefits from close support from the 24-hour hospital, which manages more complex referrals and provides overnight care through its dedicated night team. The practice is well located with multiple nearby train stations, easy access to areas such as Richmond and Wimbledon, and the added benefit of available parking. London Gatwick Airport is approximately a 30-minute drive away.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working in a busy first-opinion environment and values teamwork and supportive leadership. You will be adaptable, confident in day-to-day nursing duties, and keen to grow within your role. A positive attitude, good communication skills, and an interest in long-term development within a practice group are key to succeeding in this position.
