Job Description
Introduction
Our Client has an excellent opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their dedicated team on a temporary 6–12 month maternity cover contract. Based at the main practice in Edinburgh, this role offers the chance to work within a supportive, experienced and collaborative clinical environment.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working a variety of shift patterns. The rota includes 1 in 6 Saturdays.
There are no out-of-hours or Bank Holiday requirements.
Role Description
Duties will include all aspects of small animal nursing, including theatre work, inpatient care, nurse consultations and assisting colleagues where required.
The nursing team plays a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice while delivering exceptional care to patients and clients. You will be an integral part of the clinical team, supporting high standards of patient care and maintaining excellent communication with colleagues and clients.
Practice Details
The practice operates across three branches located in Portobello, Gilmerton and Stockbridge. The main site is well-equipped, featuring a dental suite with dental X-ray, digital X-ray, ultrasound and an in-house laboratory.
The practice holds Silver Rabbit Welfare accreditation and Silver Cat Friendly status, reflecting its commitment to high welfare standards.
Team Size
Across the practice, there are 10 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses and 5 Receptionists. The team includes several longstanding members and promotes a culture of collaboration, development and continuous professional growth.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with experience in a clinical setting, although newly qualified nurses will also be considered.
You will be conscientious, enthusiastic and confident working closely with the clinical team. A strong commitment to delivering high standards of patient and client care is essential.
