Introduction
Our Client’s practice is a well-established small animal practice in Colchester, offering high-quality, compassionate veterinary care within a friendly and collaborative environment. The practice forms part of a wider veterinary community, providing excellent internal support, shared knowledge, and strong investment in team development, while maintaining a close-knit, welcoming practice culture.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time, permanent position. The role offers a structured and supportive rota, with no specific out-of-hours or weekend commitments stated. Flexibility and work-life balance are encouraged as part of the wider team-focused approach.
Role Description
The Registered Veterinary Nurse will play a key role in supporting Veterinary Surgeons during consultations and procedures, delivering outstanding inpatient care, assisting in theatre, and contributing to nurse clinics where appropriate. The role provides strong opportunities for clinical development through ongoing training, mentorship, and exposure to a varied small animal caseload.
Team Size
You will work alongside a supportive and collaborative team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, and Reception staff, all committed to delivering excellent patient and client care.
Practice Details
The practice is a well-equipped small animal clinic with strong in-house diagnostic and treatment capabilities. It operates within a wider veterinary network that prioritises professional development, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS-registered (or eligible) Veterinary Nurse who is confident with routine nursing duties, anaesthesia monitoring, and inpatient care. They will be passionate about patient welfare, committed to delivering excellent client care, and enjoy working as part of a close, supportive team. A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to learn and develop are essential.
